Lassi, a refreshing Punjabi sweet drink made out of curd mixed with water and sugar. How it is prepared

  1. Put the freshly extracted curd into the refrigerator so that it gets viscous and fresh which will help in the perfect preparation of the Lassi.
  2. Madaani, a wooden blender used in India is the one which adds a whole new experience to the Lassi. There are electric blenders too but the taste which wooden blender gives has no match at all. Churning the freshly prepared curd to make it smooth is what the blender is used for.
  3. Now to make it less viscous, chilled water is added as per the requirement and also powdered sugar is added to give it a sugary taste. 
  4. To dissolve the sugar properly, the mixture is churned properly until a nice frothy layer comes up on the top.
  5. The lumps of homemade butter accompanied by a spoon of fresh cream are put over it which plays a major role in the beautification of the Amritsari Lassi, which is then poured into a big stainless steel or copper glass and then served to the guests. You will also find a special Pede Wali Lassi in which Khoya, a dried amalgamation of sugar and milk is churned with the curd to get it done.
